We are currently looking for "FRENCH TEACHERS" and "FRENCH ASSISTANT TEACHERS". 

ABS Teacher

The Teacher is responsible for the care and education of a group of children as part of a teaching team, and functions as a team leader, or co-leader. The teacher plans and implements the curriculum, and with active participation of other members of the teaching team, works with parents and assesses the needs of individual children. The Lead Teacher reports to the Director.

The person for this position shall be able to speak, read, and write French fluently.

 Qualifications:

- 12 ECE units covering Child Development; Child, Family and Community; Preschool Curriculum, Plus 2 years teaching experience,

- A.A. in Child Development or ECE or related field, Plus 1 years of teaching experience,

- B.A. in Child Development or ECE or related field, Plus 1 year of teaching experience,

- CPR and first aid certifications. CPR training must be EMSA certified.

ABS Teacher Assistant

The Assistant Teacher assists in implementing the curriculum, working with parents, and assessing the needs of individual children under the guidance of the Lead Teacher. The Assistant Teacher reports to the Lead Teacher.

 Qualifications:

-The candidate must have completed 6 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units and be enrolled in 2 ECE units per semester until reaching 12 units. He/she must have a minimum of six months of relevant experience working in a preschool setting.

-Alternatively, a Child Development Assistant Permit along with being enrolled in 2 ECE units per semester until reaching 12 units will qualify this candidate for this position.

-The person for this position shall be able to speak, read, and write French fluently.

-CPR and first aid certifications. CPR training must be EMSA certified.

ABS Teacher Aid

The person selected for this position will be responsible for assisting the lead teacher in the general supervision and management of the children. The Teacher Aide shall be at least 18 years of age, in the process of becoming professionally prepared to supervise young children, and must meet the requirements of the licensing agency. This person must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children and co-workers, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the school's educational philosophy.

The person for this position shall be able to speak, read, and write French fluently.

 Qualifications:

An aide in a Child Care Center must be 18 years of age, a high school graduate, or be currently participating in an occupational program at high school.

-The candidate must be enrolled in 1 ECE unit per semester until reaching 6 units.

-The Teacher Aide must have some experience with toddlers and preschoolers.

-CPR and first aid certifications. CPR training must be EMSA certified.

ABS Substitute Preschool Teacher

The substitute Preschool Teacher performs duties of a teacher or teacher assistant to provide continuity of day-to-day responsibilities with students during the absence of the regular teacher or teacher assistant. Note that the substitute employees are employed on an as needed, on-call, day-to-day basis and are not guaranteed work on a regular basis. There are no benefits associated with substitute employment.

 Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher with 12 units of early child education or a teaching credential with 12 units of early child education or an AA degree with units early child education units plus 16 general education units or High School Diploma with prior experience with preschool age children in a licensed childcare center, or a substitute certificate from one of the local school systems. At least one year of experience working in a child care setting.

ABS Cook & Cleaning crew

 Qualifications:

This person must have had experience in quantity cooking and have shown an ability to plan for economical purchases of foods. This person should be able to plan, prepare and serve nutritious and appetizing meals accordingly to the needs of the preschool children. This person should have good personal cleanliness habits and should be able to maintain an orderly and hygienic kitchen. Lastly, this person should be able to assist in establishing and maintaining an environment for children, which is clean, safe, stimulating and which is appropriate for each child’s developmental level, and be able to work well with other adults.
